Tod’s is one of the brands that cannot disappoint me. The well-known location (Villa Necchi Campiglio), the iconic models reinterpreted in order to get a fresh look for spring/summer 2017 and the brand new ready-to-wear collection by Andrea Incontri. Tod’s collections are characterized by a strong willingness to innovate the iconic pieces.
I will introduce to you some of my favorite designs from Tod’s SS17. Leather sole Leo Clamp gommino is one of my favorites from the footwear collection because it maintains the iconic dots, present on almost all Tod’s shoes. The leather on the sole make this shoe more elegant and resistant. I also payed attention to a croco print classic gommino which seems to be perfect summer shoe. In order to stay in a summer mood, there’s an outstanding Leo Clamp gommino with tropical print. Tod’s is not only about elegant kind of footwear, it’s becoming also very active and sporty. The new sneaker has the iconic dots on the backside which confirms that Tod’s works on innovation but at the same time maintains the brand heritage that is famous for all over the planet.
I can’t skip the bags collection. I appreciated the envelope bag, a travel bag perfect for a weekend or short business trip. It’s made of the softest leather and it’s also very light. Of course, the well-known dots of life are present here as well, at the four corners of the bag. It can be closed with or without the zipper and it can be worn both in hand or on shoulder. Backpacks are also an important part of the accessories collection. They are very big but light and the shape is very geometric, almost rectangular. They look very vintage and contemporary at the same time and that’s why I loved them that much, because my personal style also varies between classic and contemporary.
Ready-to-wear collection was presented as tableaux vivants divided in four corners and four different moods. They all reflect Italy and Italian man who wears timeless pieces with a touch of modernity. That’s the goal Andrea Incontri is always able to reach.
