Lisbon is definitely one of the most interesting cities in Europe. It has a unique position, almost at the very west of Europe, it has a turbulent history and vibrant architecture. It also has a great vibe 365 days a year, even when it’s raining and it was raining during my entire stay.
I had chance to stay at Corinthia Lisbon which is definitely one of the most luxurious hotels in the city. The hotel is a skyscraper so the upper floors have an amazing view over Lisbon that you can enjoy especially from the Executive Club Sky Lounge on the 24th floor.
The room type I stayed at was Deluxe Junior Suite and it had all of the amenities you would need: the huge bathroom with both bathtub and shower, walk in closet, living room area with minibar and Nespresso machine and maybe one of the most comfortable king sizes beds ever.
I also experienced the hotel’s Executive Club Sky Lounge that offers all day snacks, drinks, wines, coffee and other treats. It also has a nice view that I could enjoy as much as I wanted because of the weather. But the atmosphere was very quiet and cozy and the food very delicious.
One of the most important things when staying at the hotel is breakfast, at least for me. I wanted to try both room service breakfast and the breakfast at the restaurant and they were both great. The room service was exquisite, the food delicious and it was also arranged very nice. The buffet offers a great variety of continental breakfast options, but also some Asian food, eggs, sausages and sweet treats accompanied by lots of fruit and vegetables.
I also experienced other dining options at the hotel. ERVA is a restaurant located inside the hotel but it’s also accessible from the street which doesn’t make you feel like dining directly at the hotel which is great for those who prefer to stay close to the room but also have a dining out experience. The food at ERVA is a great mixture of Portuguese and international cuisine and the kitchen is open so you can see how the dishes are being prepared. We opted for Cod tempura as a starter and fish of the day with cabbage, all accompanied with a glass of local white wine.
The hotel has also a spa where you can enjoy many treatments or just relax and swim at the swimming pool. Just before leaving, I booked a spa treatment. I opted for skin purifying facial which was really regenerating. I travel a lot and my skin is not always in perfect condition after every flight so this treatment really helped me feel better and more hydrated before leaving again.
Another important thing about Corinthia Lisbon is the location. The hotel is not located in the city central which makes it perfect for travelers. The airport was just 10 minutes by car as well as the city center which makes the location perfect both for business and leisure travelers.
