After the intense month of June when I attended three fashion weeks: Florence (Pitti), Milan and Paris; I decided to rest a little bit and make the month of July more relaxing, just before the summer holidays officially begin. That’s why I went to Hamburg last weekend. You might have already seen many photos from Hamburg on my Instagram, but here I’m going to tell you more about my experience at Side Design Hotel in Hamburg.
Side Hamburg is the first and only 5 star Design Hotel in Hamburg. Design Hotels is a network of independent hotels present in more than 50 countries worldwide. All of those hotels are united by one common concept: Design. Scroll down to discover more about my stay at Side Hamburg.
I stayed in their business room located on the 7th floor. I really loved the interior of the room. It was very spacious with the huge window overlooking the street. Since I’m a coffee addict, I really enjoyed the coffee from the Nespresso machine I had on my disposal. The fun fact is that I have the same one back home in Milan (white Inissia).
On the 8th floor there’s a really nice lounge with design furniture and huge mirrors. The lounge gives you the access to the beautiful roof terrace and from there you can see the roofs of Hamburg at glance. This is a really nice place to rest after the busy day around the city of Hamburg without actually leaving the city center.
My favorite part of the hotel was the Wellness and Spa area. There were a swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam bath and sauna. There was also a possibility to book a private massage, face and other treatments. For those who prefer to do some exercise there’s also a gym. I opted for swimming pool and jucuzzi and I absolutely enjoyed my time there. The perfect thing is that they are open until 23 so you don’t have to hurry up from the city in order to enjoy your time at the spa.
I slept perfectly, not only because of the comfortable bed but also because of the swimming session the night before. Morning is time for my favorite meal of the day: breakfast. The breakfast is served in a dedicated restaurant and I appreciated the fact they had an à la carte menu for breakfast along with the buffet. First I ordered a fresh squeezed orange juice and then a delicious omelette with ham, cheese and herbs. There was a big cheese selection at the buffet as well as fruit, corn flakes, croissants, breads etc. I also had american pancakes for dessert; so tasty.
The location of the hotel is of a great importance for me. Side Hotel is located in a very heart of Hamburg, within a walking distance from Rathaus, the lake, Neuer Wall (shopping street) and other sights. That’s aslo one of the reasons why I had a perfect stay with Side Hotel. Have a look at the photos in order to see more from Side and make sure to follow them on Instagram.
