Ciao! 🙂
This is my second of three posts that I am going to publish about Milan Men’s Fashion Week fall/winter 2016/17. I will present you the three amazing collections from Versace, Fratelli Rossetti and Andrea Incontri.
Versace’s fall/winter 2016/17 was my biggest surprise. I saw the collection at the official re-see hosted at the iconic Palazzo Versace.
This collection was inspired by men in space, astronomy and astrology. Colours and fabrics refer to the galaxies, there are lots of silver elements, zips and fiber optics. I loved leather jackets with patches that refer to astronaut’s mementos. Lapel badges also dominate the suits and jeans. An iconic Versace astrological print has been reworked especially for this collection.
When it comes to accessories, I really appreciated the idea of bag covers. All bags are covered with galaxy linen covers or plastic ones and both can be removed in order to get the classic black bag or backpack. It makes these pieces both fashionable and timeless.
Donatella Versace said:
“The Versace man is a pioneer, his ambition as big as the universe. This is a collection for men who are totally real, totally bold and totally connected with the future.”
Fratelli Rossetti is one of my favorite footwear brands. The iconic mocassino Brera has been presented in a different way. The new three layers sole has been presented. The new layer is the colored one and perfectly matches with the color of the shoe itself, inspired by the forests and Nordic countries. The green ones take after the dark green color of the forest and blue and violet symbolize the color of Scandinavian sky and rocks from the fjords. All shoes have been hand colored in Toledo style.
The reinterpretation of tailoring, of design and shapes is what makes the latest collection by Andrea Incontri special. It’s a collection whore those who are willing to express their own individuality and personality. The focus is on the outerwear: the classic loden fabric and chevron for the coat, nappa padded leather for overcoat and parka and velvet or superlight flannel for light coat. The colors vary from the darker tones of black and blue to the brighter ones such as sky blue, virtual pink, forest and military. The Unconventional backpack was my absolute favorite of the collection.
