As the name of the collection says itself, Tod’s women’s Spring Summer 2017 collection is all about timeless Tod’s icons that stay modern over the time. I loved the way of presentation because it was a kind of very interactive fashion show. The concept of Tableaux Vivants is a really cool practice that Tod’s does for their new collections presentations. Models don’t walk down the runway, they are part of live scenes spread all over the venue which makes everything very dynamic.
When it comes to the collection I would start with the accessories. The iconic Double T and Wave bags were presented in different versions. Wave bag for example comes with maxi stripes mixing suede with stripe effect and python patterns. And it also comes in different sizes, from maxi to micro where the micro one can be attached to the bigger one. Mocassin and the well known gommino are of course the main protagonists of the footwear collection. There is also the sneaker that keeps the iconic Tod’s dots on the sole.
Ready to Wear collection is also very fashionable and perfectly reflects the Tod’s style. A biker, peacoat, jackets and t-shirts were made of really soft leather. Many items were realized in suede which makes them perfect for spring summer. Fringes are still on and they add a contemporary touch to the iconic items.
Tod’s definitely stays among my favorite collections of the season but also in general. I really appreciate the brand heritage reflected in every collection they present and the high level of brand personalization in any single item. Have a look at the pictures bellow I shot during the show.
