And this time of the year has arrived. A moment to go back and evaluate my 2016 that just finished and think of those moments that made my year. I’m so happy I have a blog and I can share my best moments with you guys. I love comparing one year to another in order to evaluate how much progress I’ve made. I can definitely say that 2016 was one of the best years ever. It made me realize who I am, what and where I want to be. It was a year that brought me so much satisfaction for work I’ve done.
Let’s start with my 2016 highlights. If I had to choose only one moment to tell you about, it would definitely be my graduation. I got a master degree in Coprorate Communications from Università Cattolica in Milan and I finally finished my formal education life. Studying and obtaining a degree from an Italian university was my main reason to move to Milan and I couldn’t even imagine what else would happen. When I started learning Italian, 7 years ago, I never thought I would live in Italy or write a master thesis in Italian. And it all happened after a couple of years
In terms of blog it was also an excellent year. PETARMILANO is a lifestyle blog where I write mostly about fashion and travel. In 2016, I had a chance to work with many brands from the fashion and travel industry. In January I went to Pitti Uomo in Florence and later on to Milan Men’s Fashion Week which is one of my favorite fashion weeks. In April I did an interesting live storytelling project on my blog and Instagram with Tod’s for the Milan Design Week. In June I went to Pitti and Milan again and I also added Paris Men’s Fashion Week to my fashion week agenda. I worked with Christian Louboutin, Ferragamo parfums, American Vintage, Massimo Rebecchi, Asos, Asket, Rituals and many others.
I also wrote many collection reviews and I introduced a new category on blog called Fashion. I found so much interest by the people in this topic and these articles brought a lot of traffic to my blog. I love doing this kind of reviews because I don’t find many personal reviews online. Magazines are usually those who write about new collections and bloggers and influencers usually pay more attention to street style than show itself. That’s why I will transform PETARMILANO into a blogzine in 2017 and keep doing reviews from my point of view.
I always measured how successful a year was by how much I traveled. 2016 was definitely a year when I traveled the most. I visited 5 new cities: Brussels, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Berlin and Munich. I’ve never been to Germany before and in 2016 I went there 3 times. I can’t forget the unforgettable stays at the amazing hotels like Aqualux at Lago di Garda, The Hotel in Brussels, Side in Hamburg, Andersen Boutique in Copenhagen, Regent in Berlin, Sofitel and Westin Grand in Munich. Travel and fashion are connected in many ways and that’s why I’m always trying to make this connection visible in contents I post.
At the end, I just want to wish you all an amazing year! Never give up and keep doing things you love! It may sound like a cliché but it’s absolutely true. Tough moments always arrive, but don’t let them discourage you. It happens to everyone and it’s normal, you just have to keep doing even more! And the results will be visible, sometimes faster, sometimes slower but you will see them. Once you see it all works, it becomes an addiction. Make the best of your 2017, stay healthy, do what you love, spend more time with people that mean to you, love and be loved!
