Ciao!
I was in Munich last week and I’m pretty sure you already saw that on my Instagram. It was my very first in this German city. Classy and with and important history, Munich will definitely remain one of my favorite cities in Germany. Since in December, Christmas markets take place all around the city of Munich, it will also remain an unforgettable experience for me.
Let me tell you more about my stay there. I stayed at Sofitel Munich Bayerpost. This hotel has an interesting history because the building where the hotel is located today used to be the old post office. The location is also very practical, just next to the Central railway station and a short walk from the center of Munich. We didn’t use public transportation to get around the city while staying at Sofitel which made our stay also very relaxing and stressless.
It was my very first time to stay at Sofitel and I experienced the Sofitel luxury at its best. I loved the interior design of the hotel and room as well, minimal with some statement details. The bed was spacious and very comfortable, there was a Nespresso machine in order to feel like home and start the day with my favorite coffee, beautiful bathroom with both bathtub and shower. The bathroom was perfectly designed, it was a part of the room without walls and with the window. During the day it was very bright because of the natural light but there was also a door and window blind to make bathroom a private space if you need that. I also appreciated Hermès shower gel, shampoo and body lotion from one of my favorite Hermès’ collections: orange verte.
Should I repeat that I love breakfasts at the hotels? The one at Sofitel was definitely something I would love to have every morning. Bavarian specialties, such as sausages and pretzels, but also great variety of fruit, smoothies and freshly squeezed juices were served on a buffet. French pastries were also perfect, especially pain au chocolat which is always my favorite. On the photos bellow you can see my selection. Sofitel is a french brand, and I’m very passionate about french culture and language. The ”French touch” was present everywhere, from very simple ”Bonjour” and ”Merci” to other aspects such as french cuisine.
Another thing I love about luxury hotels is spa. SO Sofitel spa was a beautiful experience. I didn’t have much time to experience everything but I can definitely confirm that the swimming pool is something special. The pool looks like a little labyrinth, it’s spiral and you don’t see its end when entering. Relaxing hydromassage was the best thing I could ask for after a very busy day between traveling to and visiting Munich.
